As they wait for Joe Thomas’ decision Lester Hayes Jersey , the Cleveland Browns added some offensive line depth.
The team reached agreement on Tuesday with former Pittsburgh tackle Chris Hubbard on a five-year contract, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. Hubbard, who spent the past four seasons with the Steelers, will sign with the Browns once the free agency signing period begins Wednesday, according to the person who spoke on condition of anonymity because teams are not permitted to finalize deals during the NFL’s â€legal tampering†period.
Terms of the deal were not immediately known.
In Cleveland Eddie Vanderdoes Jersey , the 26-year-old Hubbard will be reunited with former Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who was hired by the Browns during the offseason.
Hubbard made 14 starts the past two seasons. The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder is primarily a right tackle, but he gives Cleveland flexibility up front and more options in case Thomas retires. A 10-time Pro Bowler, Thomas Xavien Howard Jersey , who suffered a season-ending torn triceps in 2017, has not yet announced if he’ll be back next season or end his Hall of Fame career.
Hubbard was signed by the Steelers as an undrafted free agent from Alabama-Birmingham in 2013. He started four games in 2016 and 10 in 2017.
Shon Coleman, a third-round draft pick in 2016, started all 16 for Cleveland last season. If Thomas retires, it’s possible the Browns could switch Coleman to the left side or perhaps sign another free agent.

“Trust the process†has become a popular phrase around the sports world over the last couple of years after theè½Philadelphia 76ers adopted it as a mantra during a long rebuilding project.
Among those who used the phrase was Broncos coach Vance Joseph Rayshawn Jenkins Jersey , who uttered the words during the eight-game losing streak that sank their 2017 season. As part of their effort to avoid another dismal finish, Joseph, General Manager John Elway and others in the building got a chance to talk to the guy who began the process in Philly.
Sam Hinkie was the 76ers General Manager when they dismantled their roster and pinned their hopes on coming up with stars in the draft that would provide the foundation for a winning team. Hinkie left the team in April 2016, so he wasn’t around when the plan started bearing fruit this season.
Hinkie put the pieces in place, though Adam Thielen Jersey , so the Broncos picked his brain this week, however. Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reportsè½Hinkie spoke to members of the scouting, analytics, football administration and conditioning departments about “how to best use the influx of data†that teams collect in order to see benefits in all areas of the organization.
The Sixers spent five years out of the playoffs as they put their trust in a process that ultimately yielded phenoms Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons and this season’s 52-30 record. The Broncos would surely prefer it doesn’t take that long to get back on the right track.
